East Cambridge has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. Finding lively areas is very easy in this part of Cambridge. A vast selection of entertainment venues can be found nearby, there are very often a very large number of people around, and with its approximately 30 nightlife venues, there are options for nighttime activities. Most areas in East Cambridge are quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor, however some parts can be quite noisy, especially around one of the railway lines, I-93 or John F Fitzgerald Expy. There is a fair amount of greenery in this part of the city; it is very easy to access parks in the neighborhood since there are over 100 of them close by for residents to relax in. Residents will also find that numerous tree-lined streets are around.
